#GirlSpeakCelebrating5Years

Blogs

March is Women’s History Month, but it is also a history making month for

Girl Speak, Inc. We officially launched and hosted our first Fundraiser &

Reception at Annie’s Art Gallery five years ago in March 2016.

Celebrating five years is a significant milestone for our organization especially

since so many nonprofits fail after a few years. Since our inception, we have

had several noteworthy accomplishments – our signature mini life skills

program, How’s Your SELFIE Game? (Self-esteem, Rules of Engagement

(conflict resolution), Leadership, Financial Literacy, Innovative Thinking and

Employment Readiness), an office and our girls’ safe space in the local

community creative arts center, and a variety of collaborations and

partnerships with other nonprofits, community, county, and state

organizations.

FIVE is the number of Grace and the traditional anniversary of wood.
We thank God for His Grace as we strived to serve the community in a spirit of excellence, and we do not know how we “wood” have done it without U. Many of you have supported Girl Speak since our inception.

We cannot begin to call out everyone who in any way helped Girl Speak, Inc. reached this milestone…the list would simply be too long but please accept this heartfelt THANK U. The individual and community support has been invaluable and enabled us to continue fulfilling our mission…the celebration, education, empowerment, and unity of our young ladies.

Our Anniversary parking lot mural event was impressive, and it would not have been as amazing had it not been for those celebrating with us and MVPs whose planning and logistical skills & talents ensured its success.
